My Best Friend's Wedding

Beth has been my best friend since we were two.  Not often does a girl get lucky enough to find a forever friend so early in life.  Our friendship has been solid since day one and I'm so blessed to have this girl in my life.  I had been praying for God to send her someone who deserved her for a long time, and He did.  The same week Matt & Beth were engaged, they found out that Beth's Mom's treatments were no longer working and the doctors predicted that the good Lord would be calling her home much too soon.  Cindy is the sweetest lady I have ever known and she has been battling cancer for quite sometime.  We are still praying for a miracle on this side of eternity, but if that isn't in God's plan we are so thankful that there is still the miracle of Heaven because of the sacrifice our precious Lord and Savior made for us.  It's difficult to imagine life without Mama Cindy, or anyone we love for that matter...but it would be an impossible load to bear if it weren't for the promise of life after this where there is no more pain or suffering.  Beth and Matt, and Cindy and Beth's dad Jimmy are very loved and everyone who loves them pulled together and helped them plan their beautiful wedding in 3 short weeks.  Yeah you read that right. 3 WEEKS.  God's hand was all over this special day because it all came together so perfectly and the beautiful memories will last forever.  I was the Matron of Honor and Kollyns was the Flower Girl.  Between worrying about Kollyns behaving during the ceremony, and being on the verge of losing my breakfast all day because I knew I had to give a speech at some point, and being an emotional basket case because the day was just so bittersweet... I was a complete nervous wreck.  Beth on the other hand was completely cool, calm and collected and embraced every part of the beautiful day.  That's why she's my best friend.  We balance each other out very well.  I'll be taking you all through this sweet journey in photos as I can get my hands on them.  I have a few to start with, but I was way way too nervous to take photos that weekend.  Marriage is such a beautiful thing and weddings always remind me just how lucky I am to have such a great man to share my life with and the blessing of parenting our precious daughter together. Love is in the air.  Congratulations Beth & Matt!  We love y'all!

Just a few rehearsal and pre-wedding photos until the good stuff shows up...

The wedding took place at the home of my parents.  Couldn't have hand picked a more perfect day for weather!  Just perfect.

Rehearsal.

Post rehearsal BFF love!

And flower girl/ring bearer love.  Kollyns and Noah were the cutest.  He is a full year older than her, but she had no problem bossing him around the entire weekend.

If you're wondering what that awesome looking sign is behind us in the photos above, it's this.  An old mirror turned 'chalkboard wedding party display'.  So cool.

And keeping with the wedding's Mason Jar/Stripey Straw theme, obviously I would start their wedding day off by having coffee in a jar with a stripey straw.

And soon after my morning coffee Beth texted that she needed 'something borrowed' for the wedding.  And thank goodness I was able to get my hands on this rhinestone clip that I wore in my wedding 5 years ago!  See what I mean by everything just falling into place?

Beth & I getting things ready the morning of the wedding! :)

Makeup is my actual calling, I really think I should be working at the Lancôme counter or something.  But since working for family has way too many perks to ever give it up I think I'll stick with my day job.  But I jump at the chance to put makeup on people that I love!  I'm so glad I got to fix Beth up for her big day! :)

Here's a little blurry preview of my bridesmaid dress.  We lucked out and found all of our dresses at the J Crew Outlet for $70.  Heck yes.  These exact dresses are on the J Crew website for $200.  I was so excited!

Princess Kollyns made for a beautiful little flower girl in her grey tutu.

Loved the mason jar napkins!

One of my Matron of Honor duties included taking care of the cake.  I think I did a pretty fab job. ;)

And finally, this is a full view of the reception area as it was being set up.  Look at that beautiful blue sky.  What a great day it was.

More to come...
